What is a hip protector?

A hip protector is a specialized form of pants or underwear containing pads (either hard or soft) along the outside of each hip/leg, designed to reduce the risk of a hip fracture following a fall. They are more commonly used in elderly individuals who have a high risk of falls and hip fractures. There are a variety of different styles (and companies) which supply these products - and the quality and effectivensss of these products varies
