New Falls Guideline for Health Care Practitioners

In Summer 2021, a BC Falls Risk Assessment and Management Guideline for Older Adults was approved by the Ministry of Health’s Guidelines and Protocol Advisory Committee (GPAC). This guideline provides direction for the identification and management of older adults who are at risk of falls, and contains evidence-based recommendations, statistics, and more. A useful resource in the guideline is a list of medications that contribute to the risk of falling, which can be found as Appendix C.
